Hildenborough lies between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks, and its old village centre is mostly Victorian brick under slate or tiled roofs. Thinking about a new kitchen, a house extension or repairs to an older cottage here? Heritage Crest Build can take it on, and our design team can draw the scheme and handle the planning application before any work starts. We are family-run builders working in Hildenborough and throughout Kent and the South East, with 20+ years of building behind us.
Expect to see the owner on site each week. The person who comes to measure and price the job will also be working on it, and a single contact runs the job start to finish. Our own carpenters, joiners, plumbers, heating engineers, electricians, plasterers and decorators do most of the work, and long-standing subcontractors handle the rest. We reply to every enquiry within two working days, and we survey the site and quote in writing free of charge.
Our Services
Hildenborough jobs vary a great deal, so the list below shows every service we offer. Each one opens a gallery of finished work, which lets you judge the standard before we come out for the free survey.
Hildenborough's 19th century village centre, at the north-west end of the village, is a conservation area, first designated in December 1990. Its landmark is the Church of St John the Evangelist, completed in 1844 to a design by Ewan Christian in Kentish ragstone with sandstone dressings and a shingled spire. Most buildings in the conservation area date from between 1845 and 1900: late Victorian cottages and villas in red brick, some rendered and painted, with slate or brown tiled roofs and ragstone or brick boundary walls.
That mix shapes our work here. A good extension picks up the brick, the roof pitch and the slate or tile of the house it joins, and an old ragstone wall should be repaired in matching stone. Inside the conservation area, the council applies its planning policies to protect and enhance its character, so changes there need extra thought. The countryside around the village is Green Belt, and planning decisions sit with Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council. We also cover the villages around it, among them Leigh, Shipbourne, Underriver and Sevenoaks Weald, with Tonbridge just to the south-east.
Recent Work
In Shipbourne we renovated a listed property, taking in the main house, the garage and the annexe, along with brick and flint garden boundary walls. Our period restoration page has the full set of photos. A Tonbridge new build got its slate tiled roof from us, along with a warm insulated, high performance felt flat roof. More jobs like it are on our roofing page.
At Ivy Hatch we fitted automated entrance gates on black metal posts, with a granite sett driveway approach and Kent ragstone retaining walls. In Brasted we fitted an olive green contemporary Wren kitchen with solid quartz worktops, set within a new single storey extension at the rear of the house. At Borough Green we re-roofed a double garage in clay tiles, with new fascias, soffits, gutters and downpipes. Nearby in Platt, our painters and decorators prepared the featheredge cladding, windows and doors, then carried out full external decoration in Dulux Weathershield.
Nearby jobs in Ightham, Shipbourne, Ivy Hatch and Sevenoaks, all within easy reach of Hildenborough. Pick a photo to open the whole project.
