Deal sits on the coast where the North Sea meets the English Channel. Ours is a family firm with more than 20 years of building work behind it around Kent and the South East. We work as builders in Deal on kitchens, bathrooms, roofs, timber cladding and house renovations, and beyond homes we also take on commercial and farm buildings. Our own staff cover most trades, inside and out, and the owner is on every job at some point in the week.
We have fitted a kitchen in Deal and others nearby in Sandwich and Ash, and on a kitchen job the plumbing, electrics, plastering and decorating are all done in-house. If you need roofers in Deal, we have renewed tile verges in the town, and our own carpenters repair timber cladding and joinery before our painters and decorators finish it. You get one point of contact, and the quote comes from someone who will be working on your house.
Our own team covers most of the trades behind this list, and subcontractors we have worked with for years take the remainder. Bathroom fitting, groundworks, landscaping, house extensions and period restoration in Deal all come with one point of contact.
Our Services
Part of Deal's old town became the first conservation area in Kent in 1968, and its boundary has been extended three times since. Its heart is mainly Georgian terraced houses. Applications go to Dover District Council, which confirmed an Article 4 direction there in 2000. A direction like this gives the council control over a range of alterations to houses, including ones that are not listed, so a change that needs no permission elsewhere in the town may need it in the old town.
Henry VIII built the artillery castles at Deal and Walmer in 1539 and 1540, and both still stand on the coast. The present pier, the third on its site, was opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1957. South along the shore, Kingsdown is a conservation area in its own right, with an Article 4 direction confirmed in 2016. Inland lie Sholden, Great Mongeham and Ringwould, and Great Mongeham has two conservation areas. Sandwich, a short way north, has its own Article 4 direction, confirmed in 1998.
In Deal we renovated a semi-detached house, adding a family bathroom, a ground floor WC and an open plan kitchen and dining area. On a separate Deal job we renewed the tile verges and replaced the cladding on the outside walls with new black featheredge boards. At a seashore property in Kingsdown, we repaired the featheredge cladding, repaired and replaced external timber joinery, and redecorated the whole of the outside.
In Sandwich we fitted a navy blue Shaker style Howdens kitchen with white quartz worktops. At Ash, a cream Shaker kitchen with brass bar handles and an oak herringbone floor went into a new single storey rear extension. And at Kingston, our barn conversion work turned a disused barn into a residential annexe and home office, with new utility connections and an access driveway.
