Planning a new kitchen, a repaint or something bigger in Ashford? Heritage Crest Build is a family-run firm of builders with more than 20 years of work across Kent and the South East. Carpentry, joinery, plumbing, heating, electrics, plastering and decorating are done by our own people, so one team can strip out a tired kitchen, fit the new one and paint the room around it.
Our jobs in and around Ashford have been for businesses as well as homes. Nearby we have fitted kitchens in Wye and Challock, built house extensions and new bathrooms, put up an outdoor learning centre for a primary school and built a new warehouse with offices. Our painters and decorators work inside and out. The owner visits every site at some point in the week, and whoever quotes for your job will be on site building it.
You keep one point of contact for every service below, and every Ashford job starts with a free site survey and a written quotation. If a kitchen, extension or conversion needs drawings first, ask for design plans with the quote.
Our Services
The South Eastern Railway opened its locomotive works at Ashford in 1847 and, by 1850, had built more than 130 houses for its workers at Newtown. In 2003 the government named Ashford one of four national growth areas, and whole new neighbourhoods have followed: Repton Park on the old Templer Barracks site, Finberry, and Chilmington Green, planned for up to 5,750 homes. Inside the Ashford Town Centre Conservation Area, St Mary's Church is listed Grade I, and many medieval timber-framed buildings survive along the High Street, North Street and around the churchyard.
Those different ages of house call for different work. A home on a recent estate may be ready for a new kitchen, a bathroom or a patio, while a Victorian terrace may need its roof, chimney or rear wall seen to first. Planning across the borough sits with Ashford Borough Council, which looks after 43 conservation areas. Inside them, dormers and external cladding can need permission that would not be needed elsewhere. Much of Wye parish lies in the Kent Downs National Landscape, and the Kent Downs scarp rises above Brabourne.
In the town centre our roofers laid a new concrete interlocking tile roof on a terraced property, with new lead flashings and soakers to the chimney, new fascias and deep-flow guttering. For a primary school we built an outdoor learning centre with WCs, a kitchenette and a raised deck with ramp access, then plastered and decorated inside. Our commercial work in the town also includes a 4,800 sq ft warehouse with a mezzanine and first-floor offices, and fire safety upgrades for a national food producer.
Out in the villages, we roofed a new single-storey kitchen extension in Kingsnorth with GRP fibreglass over a warm insulated roof. At Wye we laid a gravel driveway with a five-bar gate, an oak sleeper retaining wall and French drainage. In Brabourne we renovated a Grade II listed farmhouse and joined it to a newly converted annexe with a glass link, a good example of our period restoration work.
